About Us

Kia ora, my name is Alexia. The creator behind Creations by Alexia funnily enough. I’m a Macrame artist based in Auckland, Aotearoa NZ.

The business name stemmed from my māmā (also named Alexia), a Raranga practitioner – a form of traditional and contemporary Maori weaving of harakeke (flax). That encompasses all natural artistry.

So, the technique only came naturally “inspired by raranga with a touch of modernity”.

Like harakeke, it’s about treating each stem with care by being cautious of how you nourish their roots and gently interweave them together. Thus, it is essential to create each piece with love and careful craftsmanship, I hope portrays that.
